  • Project Description: Virtual Triage is an AI Based Machine Learning System built up on PictoBlox that aims to digitalize triage at clinics and medical facilities by making it contactless which subsequently would reduce the risk of spread towards frontline medical works who are already overloaded with work due to recent pandemic. Developed by Azlan Mohsin (4i) from The Winchester School Jebel Ali, Dubai, the Virtual Triage has a virtual assistance Abby who acts as an initial responder to gather the vitals of every patient stepping into the medical facility, without having to have physical contact, and all this data is gathered and passed on to the doctor for further examiniation.

Project Explaination

Problem Background

The recent outbreak has left a high potential risk to the life of frontline medical workers who are exposed to virus on regular basis which would only result in a disaster if not managed properly since they are already overloaded.

Proposed Solution

The Virtual Triage by NextGen Savior aims to address this problem by fetching the vitals contactless  through technology and storing them to develop AI based machine learning algorithms that will help doctors and patients in the long run.

System Methodology

As soon as the patient enters, following steps are processed via virtual assistant “Abby”

1. Patient speaks out name and age
2. Scans Emirates ID (which is matched with previous records and data is appended, or a new record is created for the patient)
3. Thermal Camera detects temperature
4. Wrist band measures and stores
a. heart rate
b. oxygen levels
c. blood pressure
5. Weight is measured via machine installed on floor and height is measured through camera

Identifying Symptoms and Critical Illness

Cases showing symptoms of COVID19 are attended to immediately by emergency team

Fetched records are fed in AI based system for machine learning to analyze pattern of the patient, and forwarded to doctor for further
examination.

Mitigating Risk of Spread

Virtual Triage helps to gather the vitals contactless and mitigates the risk of spread specially to the frontline medical works who are exposed on daily basis while examining patients.

System also optimally creates records and helps machine learning to analyze historical illness pattern of the patient

Future Growth Plans

  • The system would go on cloud based data
  • All previously prescribed medicine records maintained
  • Record all surgeries and allergies previously experienced
  • Contact tracing system through Mobile App proximity
  • Notification alerts of the medicines and reminders
  • Daily exercise routine, heart rate and other vitals shared with the doctors upon patient one-click approval
  • Immediate assistance upon emergency accesible

This project aims to assure wellbeing of everyone who has suffered in recent pandemic
